Kidsafe, the Child Accident Prevention Foundation of Australia (CAPFA), is dedicated to the prevention of unintentional death, injury and associated disability to children.
Infographics is a Key to any content strategy. They are visual representations of information and data. They help break down information and data that would otherwise have been difficult to digest. Infographics are great tools for marketing because most people tend to remember what they saw more than what they read. I use basic principles of design to support the information presented and to make it more easily accessible to a larger audience or to target one particular audience over another.
Creating impact with customised illustrated characters
Illustrations/characters make the infographics stand out and build curiosity. I came up with a unique idea of having customised characters that matched Kidsafe branding/logo to be used across multiple digital platforms and generate curiosity among the viewers. This resulted in increase in number of subscriptions for company e-Newsletters and donors for fundraisers.
Based on the segregated information, I worked on some low fidelity wireframes to kick start my Visual - UI Design for the native App.
Burn Safety Awareness Campaign
Year 2018 Kidsafe Australia had taken over the National Burns Awareness Month which ran throughout the month of June and focused on raising awareness of burns first aid. For this different campaign materials were needed to be designed like Checklist, Digital posters, Social media graphics and other infographics for the website.
Below are sample creatives (Digital and print) designed for the campaign "Burn Safety Awareness".
While it may not be possible to make homes completely safe at all time, few steps can be taken to lessen the risk of injury and make it a safer place for children. I designed this checklist which was made available as a resource in the website during the campaign.
Digital Posters & PPC Campaign ads
There are numerous ad formats on Facebook now, many with different specs and sizes. Page Like ads, for example, are 1200 x 444, while Click to Website Conversion ads display best at 1200 x 628. It’s not a huge difference, but the ad will look skewed or have parts cut off if we don’t have our dimensions right during design.

Infographic - Button Battery Safety
Powerful coin-sized button batteries are found in many common household devices. Children often have easy access to these devices and many parents/carers are unaware of the dangers as many devices come with the batteries already installed.
This infographic was created to raise an awareness on keeping children safe from the button batteries that might be lying around after use. The brief contained the five points in a MS Word document.
Infographic - Five Tips to reduce furniture tip overs
Between 2006 – 2010, 297 Victorian children aged 0-14 years were presented to emergency departments with injuries resulting from incidents of TV tip over. There are many such incidents of furniture tip over. This was designed to spread the good news that there are some simple measures that could be taken to keep children safe from these hazards.
